The only one I'm looking forward to meeting is Greg Ayres. Seriously, Bill Rogers? Michelle Knots? If I wanted to meet the voice actors who played Misty and Brock, I'd rather meet the ORIGINAL actors who played them in the english dub:Rachael Lillis and Eric Stuart. Why are they inviting all these people that most of us probably never heard of? Why can't they invite somebody like Luci Christian? She's never been to Anime Next not ONCE. And don't use the fact that she got married last year as an excuse, because she was at Anime Matsuri recently, and I've been wanting to meet her since 2005, so how come you can't invite her again? Please answer that question...

I don't think we've announced our entire guest list yet so I wouldn't make a judgment call on the list.

Note: I have no inside knowledge currently of more guests so this is not to be interpreted as a "Just wait, there's something good coming" message. There may well be but I don't know...

yeah, last I checked AN hasn't updated their guest list in like, forever and a half. granted i also haven't checked the website in forever and a half but yeah.

And as far as the guest list is now... Just because "Person x you wanted to see" is not coming does not automatically mean it sucks. There are people I wish really badly to see [and pray to not be a retarded stupid fanpoodle at if I met them, hurrrrrrr.] but I'm not bashing the people that ARE coming. Even though they are guests, they are still normal, hardworking people. They are not gods bestowed upon us from the heavens at their own precious convenience to cater to our every whim. They work, have schedules, and even *gasp* HAVE LIVES. I'm sure AN has asked tons of people if they can come, but said people had to turn down due to scheduling conflicts or because of work or given today's "lovely" situation, the [lack of]economy.

But yeah, AN stil has time to announce the guest of honor and all that jazz, so relax. Usually the big dogs are called in for that role, so wait until that announcement before you start insisting the sky is falling. ;D

Ok, like others have said, it's most likely that Anime Next still has more guests that need to be announced. Anime Next always has a pretty large number of guests, so I would definitely NOT believe that the current guest list is final. As for why Michele Knotz and Bill Rogers are invited, it's because they have been guests at Anime Next for years and they are friends of the con. Hell, Michele Knotz even worked at Manga Next as a staff member. Also, keep in mind Michele Knotz and Bill Rogers are from the New York City area, so they are also easier to have as guests both for financial reasons and distance. If you want to meet Rachael Lillis, she is usually a guest at New York Anime Festival and New York Comic Con, along with Veronica Taylor. Veronica Taylor is also a guest at Anime Boston this year. Anime Next does invite a lot of people, but you have to understand that not every guest is going to accept their invitations for a variety of reasons.

And they can't have Luci Christian, because why? And why wouldn't they have certain voice actors/actresses just because of where they live?

I'm not sure if I've heard anything about Luci Christian, at all (in respect to AnimeNEXT). Where might you be getting your info about the whos & whys of guests?

I heard somewhere that M. Alice Legrow was going to be there with signing for her comic Bizenghast?

I tried to think postive on this one but even I am getting worried. I know still 30 days but I am starting to agree with CorporalKlegg. I mean they just post a new announcement on Yahoo and nothing new when it comes to guest. I am going to try to be postive but i'm worried.

Actually, they just announced the artist Misako Rocks! and a martial artist named Shihan Chris Carbonaro. Not the most exciting guest announcements, honestly, but then again I don't really know who they are. Hopefully we get more guests announced. We do have another month to go, after all.

Martial arts was already up on the web site in guest section and I think misako was on too but I could be wrong.

If you dislike the guests so much, then either 1: don't go to the con, or 2: ignore it. Big deal they aren't getting the actors/actresses/people you want. AN has a budget I'm quite sure, and not everyone is going to be like "SURE I'LL COME", not to mention, YES THEY HAVE LIVES. They're normal people too, just because they have a job that gives their name more publicity doesn't make them any less of a normal person than the dude who works at McDonalds or something.

So if all you're going for is the guests, then don't go. If it's going to ruin your weekend, don't waste your money. But if you do go, don't complain to everyone there about your OPINION about the guest list. Be glad AN are GETTING guests, there's no law stating they need to have guests.

I'm not saying that I won't enjoy myself or won't go or anything. I was just saying I was a little worried but held a little hope that I am wrong. The guests and autographs from then is just one part of the whole weekend for me. It isn't like it would change anything. If guests was so important I wouldn't register till convention and get a hotel till late or never get one.
